Short version: QR Scanner Pro does not collect, store or transmit any personally identifiable information. All scan data stays entirely on your device. We believe your data belongs to you.

1. Introduction

QR Scanner Pro ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Android application ("App") handles information when you use it.

By using QR Scanner Pro, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

QR Scanner Pro is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect:

The content of any QR codes or barcodes you scan
Your name, email address or any personal details
Your location data
Your camera feed or photos
Your device contacts
Your scan history or usage patterns
Any data that could personally identify you

3. Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to any server:

Scan History — The content and timestamp of QR codes and barcodes you have scanned, stored in a local database on your device.
App Preferences — Settings such as dark mode preference, stored using Android's local storage mechanisms.

All locally stored data can be deleted at any time from within the app using the "Clear All History" function, or by uninstalling the application.

Phone Numbers

QR Scanner Pro may process phone numbers in the following scenarios:

When you scan a QR code that contains a phone number — the number is displayed on screen and optionally saved to your local scan history on your device only.
When you choose to generate a QR code for a phone number — the number is used only to create the QR image and is never stored on any server or transmitted anywhere.
When you tap Open on a phone scan result — the number is passed to your device dialler app only. We do not store or transmit this number.

Phone numbers are never uploaded to any server and are processed on your device only.

4. Camera Permission

QR Scanner Pro requires access to your device camera solely to scan QR codes and barcodes. The camera feed is processed entirely on your device in real time and is never recorded, stored or transmitted anywhere.

We use Google ML Kit on-device barcode scanning, which processes all image data locally without sending any data to Google's servers during scanning.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

QR Scanner Pro displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob to support the continued development of the App. Google AdMob may collect and use data to show relevant advertisements. This includes:

Device advertising ID (resettable in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads)
Approximate location (based on IP address)
Device type and operating system version
Ad interaction data

Google's data collection for advertising is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy . You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation.

Ad data is managed entirely by Google. QR Scanner Pro does not have access to, store, or process any data collected by Google AdMob on our behalf.

6. Third-Party Services

QR Scanner Pro uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Google ML Kit (barcode scanning) — processes data on-device only. Terms

Google Play Services — Privacy Policy

7. Children's Privacy

QR Scanner Pro does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App does not target children and does not contain features designed for children.

8. Data Security

Since QR Scanner Pro does not collect or transmit personal data, the risk of data breach is minimal. All data stored locally on your device is protected by Android's built-in security mechanisms including device encryption and app sandboxing.

9. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal data, there is no data held by us that you need to request access to, correct or delete. To delete locally stored scan history, use the "Clear All History" feature in the app or uninstall the app.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
